Stephen Wells, President
Stephen Wells has been involved in education for over 20 years. He co-founded North America’s leading e-learning education company, providing curriculum development, marketing, enrollment and technology support services for postsecondary educational institutions. Since selling the company, Stephen has focused on providing tools for change and growth of individuals and organizations to achieve their highest purposes. He is CEO of Rubicon Communications, Student Launch Pad’s parent company, and CEO of Magnum Opus Ventures whose focus is on finding business opportunities that benefit society. Stephen grew up in Maitland, Florida and is a graduate of Winter Park High School, Florida State University and Regent University. He has been married to Kristi for 33 years and lives in Winter Park, Florida.
Founder and Director of Student Coaching
Stephanie Shackelford has a passion for coaching individuals and teams to success. Through Student Launch Pad, she coaches high school and college students as they navigate getting into their dream college, choosing the best major, or finding their ideal career. Most recently, she founded Student Launch Pad’s sister company, Career Flight Plan, which coaches college seniors, recent graduates, and working professionals on successfully navigating their career path.
Previously, she led Talent and Culture Development at Roam Atlanta and was the Organizational Director for Element3sixty, a youth development company. Consulting with organizations, such as Cisco Systems, YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and two startup nonprofits, Stephanie implemented organizational development plans for leadership effectiveness. She also has significant experience in the nonprofit field, working in development and grant-writing with organizations such as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Nashville Mobile Market, Faith Family Medical Clinic, Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, and Campus Crusade for Christ International.
Stephanie is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University, and she graduated with a Master’s of Education in Organizational Leadership from Vanderbilt University. She also received summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development.
